Washington, DC February 5, 2008 – Oxantium management team is happy to announce that Dr. Richard Wirt, a senior technology executive with 35 years of experience in the computer industry, joins its ranks as a Managing Director. "Richard’s knowledge, industry experience and marketplace insight brings tremendous strength to our team and vision" Mr. Lester Hyman explains.

Dr. Wirt served as Vice President and General Manager of Intel Corporation’s Software and Solutions Group. He developed and nurtured the Intel software group from when he founded it in 1982 to a 3000 person worldwide operation in 2007.

Working closely with Intel Capital, Dr. Wirt made many successful worldwide investments including 10 large acquisitions of software companies. Operating at the highest executive level, Dr. Wirt worked with Intel industry partners such as Microsoft, Dell, Oracle, HP, IBM, NEC, Fujitsu, Redhat, and many others, building ecosystems to grow Intel’s processors’ market while maintaining more than 85% market share.

Dr. Wirt was first named an Intel Fellow in 1990 and promoted to an Intel Senior Fellow in 2002, the highest rank for technologists in Intel, for his significant contributions in operating systems and compilers and more recently in getting this support across the Intel processors spanning communications and computing. He also serves on the Board of Advisors in Computer Science and Engineering for both John Hopkins University and University of Illinois, and is the Intel representative on the Board of Directors for the Enterprise Grid Alliance.
